Myakka Bird Sampler

Photo quote for today:
"The question is not what you look at, but what you see."-Henry David Thoreau

Here is a small sampling of the birds that make Myakka River State Park. Those that I can identify I have, others I still need to research.

Ibis (not sure the variety)

White Heron

White Ibis

Black Vulture whose favorite snack, aside from roadkill, is the rubber around the windshield of a car.

Bald Eagle

I'm sure I'd go nuts in a place like that. Love the white ibis with the reflection.

Mike, I especially like the shot of the vulture. It's a very simple composition yet reveals so much detail about the bird's physical make-up and offers some insight into its personality.

Mike....I have taken you up on your invite on Birds2blog to look in on your blog.

Might I 'suggest' the bottom image - which you have not named so assume you may not know - is a Lesser Yellowlegs.

I'll be in touch again soon Mike. Meanwhile....greetings for Lancaster England.

Great photographs Mike, I've seen a few of these in the UK where I live but all captive species unfortunately.
