Blue Jays

I was sitting at breakfast one morning and noticed a fair amount of bird traffic around the feeders, so I set-up the camera and waited, hoping to grab a frame. I've observed that Blue Jays are usually very competitive around the feeders, and tend to hopping around all over the place trying to gain an edge over each other when it comes to food, so I was very supprised to see these four just sitting there peacefully. The fact that it was minus 20F may have had something to do with it, and the moment was rather short lived. I did manage a number of frames with a single Jay, but this was the only group photo they would pose for that morning.

The birds' breasts look so fluffy, something I have never seen before. The light on the birds is perfect. I once saw a blue jay play dead as it was trying to intice my cat from under a chair. It was the funniest thing I've seen
