I chose to present this image on my first blog post because of it's simplicity. Making the image however was more challenging then it appears. It was captured on slide film using existing light, a mechanical camera with a manual focus lens, mounted on a tripod, and it was the only frame I exposed that day. The one important lesson I've learned from bird photography is to know your subject, know your equipment, and be extremely patient. When the opportunity arises you need to be ready to capture the image without hesitation.
